Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 whole cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 whole gingerbread cookies

Instructions

    Pour milk into a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in cocoa powder, sugar, cayenne, and vanilla until no lumps remain.

    Heat until steaming and small bubbles form at the edges, about 3 minutes. Do not boil.

    Pour into a molinillo whisk or use a handheld frother to whisk vigorously until frothy and doubled in volume, 30 to 60 seconds.
