Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen french fries
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the 1 lb frozen fries according to package directions until golden and crispy, about 20 minutes in a 425°F oven.

  2. 2

While fries cook, brown the 0.5 lb ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  3. 3

Stir the 1 cup tomato sauce and 0.5 tsp oregano into the beef. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

Spread the hot fries on a plate, spoon the meat sauce over them, and sprinkle with the 0.5 cup cheddar cheese. Let it melt slightly, then garnish with fresh herbs if you like.
