Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe plantains
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

    Peel the 2 ripe plantains and cut them into 1/2-inch thick diagonal slices.

    Heat the 1/2 cup vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.

    Add the plantain slices in a single layer, working in batches if needed, and fry until golden brown on the bottom, about 3 minutes.

    Flip the slices and cook until the other side is golden and the plantains are tender, about 3 more minutes.

    Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with the 1/4 teaspoon salt and serve warm.
