Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb white fish fillets
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the 1.5 lb fish fillets dry and season both sides with 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.

  2. 2

Place 0.5 cup flour in a shallow dish and beat 2 eggs in another. Dredge each fillet in flour, then dip in egg, letting excess drip off.

  3. 3

Heat 0.25 cup oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Fry the fish in batches until golden and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.

  4. 4

Slice the 1 large onion into thin rings and the 1 green bell pepper into strips. Add remaining 0.25 cup oil to the skillet over medium-high.

  5. 5

Cook the onion and pepper, stirring occasionally, until the onion is crispy and browned at the edges and the pepper is tender, about 8-10 minutes.

  6. 6

Spoon the crispy onions and peppers over the fried fish and serve hot.
