Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) canned chickpeas
- ½ medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cups lettuce
Instructions
- 1
Drain and rinse the 1 can chickpeas. In a food processor, pulse the chickpeas, 1/2 onion, and 2 garlic cloves until coarsely ground but not pureed, about 10 pulses.
- 2
Shape the mixture into 8 small patties, about 2 inches wide. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- 3
Fry the patties in a single layer until golden brown and crisp on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Do not crowd the pan; cook in batches if needed.
- 4
Whisk together the 3 tbsp tahini, 2 tbsp lemon juice, and 2 tbsp water until smooth. Season with salt.
- 5
Serve the hot falafel over the 2 cups lettuce, drizzled with the tahini sauce.
