Ingredients

  • ½ lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz cooked noodles (lo mein or spaghetti)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tsp ground cumin

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the 0.5 lb beef slices in a single layer and sear until browned on one side, about 2 minutes, then stir-fry for another 2 minutes until just cooked through. Remove beef to a plate.

  2. 2

In the same skillet, add 1 sliced onion and 1 julienned carrot. Stir-fry over medium-high heat until the onion is translucent and the carrot is slightly tender, about 3 minutes.

  3. 3

Add the 2 cups broccoli florets and 2 tbsp water. Cover and steam for 2 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and crisp-tender.

  4. 4

Return the beef to the skillet. Add the 8 oz cooked noodles and 2 tsp ground cumin. Toss everything together over high heat for 2 minutes until the noodles are heated through and the cumin is fragrant. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
