Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb chicken thighs and drumsticks, skin-on
  • 6 count garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 lb frozen french fries

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Mix minced garlic, soy sauce, and brown sugar in a bowl.

  2. 2

Toss chicken with garlic marinade, coating all pieces. Let sit 5 minutes while you prep.

  3. 3

Spread flour on a plate. Coat each chicken piece in flour, shaking off excess.

  4. 4

Heat 0.25 inch oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers, about 2 minutes.

  5. 5

Working in batches, fry chicken skin-side down 6–7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

Flip chicken and fry another 4–5 minutes until cooked through and golden on all sides.

  7. 7

Meanwhile, bake frozen fries on a sheet pan at 400°F for 12–15 minutes until crispy.

  8. 8

Drain fried chicken on paper towels. Serve hot alongside crispy fries.
