Ingredients

  • 10 oz ground pork
  • 1 package store-bought steamed bao buns (4-6 pieces)
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • ¾ cup pickled vegetables (daikon & carrot, or quick-pickled cucumber)
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp green onions, chopped

Instructions

    Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Add ground pork and brown, breaking up with a spoon, until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

    Stir in hoisin sauce until the meat is glossy and coats evenly. Cook 1 minute more, then remove from heat.

    Warm bao buns in a microwave (30 seconds wrapped in a damp towel) or steam them per package directions.

    Spread a thin layer of mayo inside each warm bun. Divide the pork mixture equally between them.

    Top each bun with pickled vegetables and green onions. Serve immediately.
