Ingredients

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 whole orange (zest + juice)
  • 4 whole green cardamom pods, crushed

Instructions

    Mix flour and baking soda in a bowl with 3 tbsp water to form a thick, pipeable batter (like pancake mix).

    Heat sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and cardamom with 0.5 cup water in a saucepan over medium. Stir until sugar dissolves, ~3 minutes. Set syrup aside.

    Preheat air fryer to 350°F. Transfer batter into a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.

    Pipe 3-inch spiral coils of batter directly onto the air fryer basket. Don't overcrowd—work in two batches.
