Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded phyllo or kataifi pastry
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella or white cheese (shredded)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup roasted salted pistachios (chopped)
  • 1 pinch pinch of cinnamon or cardamom (optional)

Instructions

    Heat butter in a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high until foaming.

    Add shredded phyllo and toss constantly until golden brown and crispy, about 4 minutes.

    Scatter shredded cheese evenly over the pastry, then cover the skillet with a lid or foil.

    Cook covered for 2 minutes until cheese melts and starts to pool into the pastry.

    Warm honey in a small bowl with cinnamon if using, about 30 seconds in the microwave.

    Slide onto a serving plate, drizzle warm honey all over, scatter pistachios on top, and serve immediately.
