Ingredients
- 1 cup pre-cooked shredded chicken
- ¾ cup white cheddar or mozzarella, shredded
- 1.5 cups arepa flour (corn flour for arepas)
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 whole lime (juiced)
- ½ cup sour cream or crema
- 2 cups neutral oil for frying

Mix arepa flour, warm water, and a pinch of salt until a soft dough forms, about 1 minute.

Stir lime juice and a pinch of salt into sour cream; set the crema aside.

Form 4 golf-ball-sized dough balls and flatten to thick discs. Make a pocket in each and fill with chicken and cheese.

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high until shimmering. Fry arepas 3 minutes per side until deep golden.
