Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 8 sheets phyllo dough (thawed)
- 5 tbsp butter, melted
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs or crushed walnuts

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a bowl until evenly coated.

Lay a sheet of phyllo on a clean counter. Brush lightly with melted butter, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Layer remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter and breadcrumbs between layers.

Spread cherry filling down one long edge, leaving 2 inches bare. Roll tightly, sealing the seam with butter.

Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush exterior generously with remaining melted butter.
