Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork trotters
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 2 whole star anise
- 2 whole dried red chili
- 2 cups lettuce
- 2 cups water

Place the 2 lbs pork trotters in a large pot and add the 2 cups water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer until the trotters are slightly tender, about 10 minutes.

Add the 1/2 cup soy sauce, 2 star anise, and 2 dried red chili to the pot. Stir to combine, then cover and simmer over low heat until the trotters are fully tender and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 10 more minutes.

Arrange the 2 cups lettuce on a serving plate. Place the braised trotters on top and spoon the sauce over them. Serve hot.
