Ingredients
- 300 g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp honey
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 150 g daikon radish, julienned
- 150 g carrots, julienned
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 whole Vietnamese baguettes
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro
- ¼ cup fresh mint
- 1 whole jalapeño, sliced
- ½ whole cucumber, sliced

Combine soy sauce, fish sauce, minced garlic, honey, and black pepper in a bowl. Add sliced beef and toss to coat. Let marinate for 15 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Add julienned daikon and carrots, toss well, and let sit for 10 minutes to soften.

Slice baguettes lengthwise and lightly toast if desired.

Heat a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked through. Set aside.

Spread mayonnaise on the inside of each baguette. Layer beef, pickled vegetables, cucumber slices, jalapeños, cilantro, and mint.
