- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 6 sheets phyllo sheets (thawed if frozen)
- 4 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced thin
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat oven to 400°F. Toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla in a bowl.

Brush a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with melted butter. Layer 3 phyllo sheets into the skillet, brushing each with butter.

Spread apple mixture evenly over phyllo. Layer remaining 3 phyllo sheets on top, brushing each with butter.

Cut phyllo into a lattice pattern (diagonal lines both directions) without cutting through to the apples.
