Ingredients
- 1 cup almonds
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 tbsp ghee
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp pistachios
- ½ cup water

Soak the 1 cup almonds in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and peel off the skins. Blend with 0.5 cup water into a smooth paste.

Heat the 3 tbsp ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the almond paste and cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens and turns aromatic, about 5 minutes.

Add the 0.5 cup sugar and 0.5 tsp cardamom powder. Stir well and cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes together, about 3-4 minutes.

Cook until the halwa leaves the sides of the pan and turns glossy, about 2-3 more minutes. It should be thick and paste-like.

Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with the 2 tbsp chopped pistachios. Serve warm or at room temperature.
