Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan, or line with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a small saucepan, melt the 6 tbsp butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

  3. 3

In a bowl, whisk the 3 egg whites with the 0.25 cup granulated sugar until frothy, about 1 minute. Stir in the 1 cup almond flour, 0.75 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, and 0.25 tsp salt until just combined.

  4. 4

Fold the browned butter into the batter until fully incorporated. The batter will be thick and smooth.

  5. 5

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.

  6. 6

Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack. Slice into fingers while still warm or after completely cooled.
