Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup (1 stick), melted and cooled unsalted butter
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush a madeleine pan with melted butter or nonstick spray; set aside.
- 2
In a small bowl, whisk together the 1 cup flour, 0.5 teaspoon baking powder, and 0.25 teaspoon salt.
- 3
In a large bowl, beat the 2 eggs and 0.5 cup sugar with an electric mixer until pale and thick, about 3 minutes. Beat in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- 4
Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture until just combined. Fold in the 0.5 cup melted butter and 0.5 cup chocolate chips until just incorporated; do not overmix.
- 5
Spoon the batter into the prepared pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full. Bake until the edges are golden and the tops spring back when touched, 10-12 minutes.
