Ingredients

  • 1 loaf (10–12 oz) store-bought pound cake
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 4 drops per color gel food coloring (red, yellow, blue, green)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

    Pour cream into a bowl. Whip with a hand mixer or whisk until soft peaks form, ~2 minutes.

    Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Whip until stiff peaks form, another 1–2 minutes.

    Divide frosting into 4 bowls. Tint each with a different gel color, stirring until blended.

    Slice pound cake into 4 horizontal layers using a serrated knife or cake leveler.

    Stack the layers on a plate, spreading a different rainbow color frosting between each.
