Ingredients

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • ⅓ cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet
  • ½ cup walnuts (toasted) and cape gooseberries, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, egg, and milk in a microwave-safe mug until smooth, no lumps.

  2. 2

Microwave the mug on high for 90 seconds. Cake will rise above the rim; center should look set but still moist.

  3. 3

Stir chocolate chips into the hot cake until they melt completely and form a fudgy sauce.

  4. 4

Let cool 1 minute, then spoon onto a plate. Top with toasted walnuts and cape gooseberries. Serve warm.
