Shrimp Sinigang

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 8 oz radish (or daikon), cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 4 oz leafy greens (bok choy or spinach)
  • 1 medium onion, quartered
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 4 cups water or seafood broth

Instructions

    Bring water and tamarind paste to a boil in a large pot, stirring until paste dissolves, ~2 minutes.

    Add radish and onion. Simmer until radish is fork-tender, ~8 minutes.

    Stir in fish sauce and shrimp. Cook until shrimp turn pink and opaque, ~3 minutes.

    Add greens and simmer until wilted, 30-60 seconds.

    Taste and adjust salt with more fish sauce if needed. Serve in bowls.
