Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  1. 1

Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium until steam rises and small bubbles form at the edges, about 4 minutes.

  2. 2

Whisk cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne in a mug until smooth, breaking up any lumps.

  3. 3

Pour hot milk slowly into the mug while whisking constantly until frothy and well combined.

  4. 4

Stir in vanilla and dark chocolate pieces until the chocolate melts completely.
