Ingredients

  • 4 pieces store-bought steamed buns (gua bao)
  • 6 oz crispy pork belly or char siu (pre-cooked)
  • ½ cup pickled mustard greens (zha cai), chopped
  • ¼ cup roasted peanuts, crushed
  • 2 tbsp sweet bean sauce (tian mian jiang)
  • 2 tbsp cilantro or scallion, chopped (optional)

Instructions

    Warm the buns in a dry skillet over medium heat, about 1 minute per side until soft and pillowy.

    Warm the pork belly in the same skillet for 1-2 minutes to crisp the edges, stirring gently.

    Spread 1 tsp sweet bean sauce inside each warm bun.

    Layer pork belly, pickled mustard greens, and crushed peanuts into each bun.
