Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup plant milk (almond or soy)
  • 1 ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.

    In a large bowl combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.

    In another bowl mix plant milk, oil, vinegar, and vanilla.

    Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.

    Stir until the batter becomes smooth.

    Fold in chocolate chips if desired.

    Pour the batter into the baking pan.

    Bake for 25–30 minutes.

    Allow the cake to cool before slicing.
