Strawberry Sauce

A bright, jammy sauce made from fresh strawberries simmered with sugar and lemon. Perfect over ice cream, pancakes, yogurt, or cheesecake.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ⅛ tsp salt

Instructions

    Combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt in a medium saucepan.

    Heat over medium-high until mixture bubbles, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes.

    Reduce heat to medium and simmer 8–10 minutes, stirring often, until sauce thickens and berries break down.

    Pour through a fine-mesh strainer if you prefer a smooth sauce, or leave chunky.

    Cool to room temperature or chill before serving.
