Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup pecans
Instructions
- 1
In a small bowl, dissolve the 1 packet yeast in 0.25 cup of the warm milk and let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- 2
In a large bowl, mix the 2 cups flour, 1 egg, remaining 0.5 cup warm milk, and 2 tbsp melted butter. Add the yeast mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
- 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes or until doubled.
- 4
Meanwhile, make the glaze: in a small saucepan, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter with the 0.5 cup brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until smooth and bubbly, about 3 minutes.
- 5
Pour the glaze into a greased 9-inch round cake pan and sprinkle the 0.5 cup pecans evenly over it.
- 6
Punch down the dough, shape it into a ball, and place it in the pan over the pecans. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
- 7
Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes, then invert onto a plate so the sticky glaze is on top.
