Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 2 piece pita or flatbread
  • ¼ cup onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp (total) paprika, cumin, and red pepper flakes
  • 1 whole lemon, halved

Instructions

    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering, about 60 seconds.

    Add diced onion, cook 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly.

    Add ground beef, break up with a spoon, cook 4 minutes until browned throughout.

    Stir in tomato paste and spice blend (paprika, cumin, pepper flakes). Cook 1 minute.

    Warm pita directly over the flame or in the skillet 20 seconds per side.

    Spoon beef mixture onto warm pita, squeeze lemon over top, serve immediately.
