Ingredients

  • 4 medium (about 1.5 lbs) apples, cored and sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Toss apple slices with cranberries and 1.5 tbsp sugar in a 10-inch cast iron skillet.

    In a bowl, mix oats, flour, remaining 1.5 tbsp sugar, and a pinch of salt.

    Cut cold butter into the oat mixture using your fingers until it looks like coarse breadcrumbs.

    Spread the topping evenly over the apples. Bake 12 minutes until the top is golden and apples soften.

    Let cool 2 minutes. Serve warm as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
