Ingredients
- 1 lb steak
- 1.5 lb potatoes
- 1 green bell pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1
Peel and chop 1 lb of potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2
While potatoes cook, slice the green bell pepper into strips. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the pepper until softened and lightly charred, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet.
- 3
Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt. Heat remaining 1 tbsp olive oil in the same skillet over high heat. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes.
- 4
Mash the boiled potatoes with butter and a pinch of salt until smooth. If too thick, add a splash of water or milk.
- 5
Slice the rested steak and serve with the potato puree and sautéed green peppers.
