Ingredients

  • ½ lb beef tenderloin
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the 0.5 lb beef tenderloin dry and season all over with the 0.5 tsp salt. Heat the 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over high until shimmering, about 2 minutes.

  2. 2

Sear the beef for 1-2 minutes per side until browned but still rare in the center. Transfer to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp sesame oil. Slice the beef as thinly as possible against the grain.

  4. 4

Arrange the slices on a plate, drizzle with the soy-sesame sauce, and sprinkle with the 1 tbsp sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
