Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 6 oz dark chocolate, chopped (60% cacao or higher)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 whole large eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup salted caramel sauce (jarred or homemade)
  • ½ cup roasted pecans, roughly chopped

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on two sides.

    Melt butter and chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.

    Whisk sugar and eggs together in a separate bowl until pale, about 2 minutes. Fold in the melted chocolate mixture.

    Sift flour and a pinch of salt over the batter. Fold until just combined—don't overmix.

    Pour half the batter into the pan. Drizzle half the caramel sauce over, then swirl with a fork. Add remaining batter.
