Ingredients

  • ½ sheet frozen puff pastry sheet (thawed)
  • ¾ cup gruyère or sharp cheddar, finely grated
  • 1 whole egg
  • ¼ teaspoon fleur de sel or coarse sea salt

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Lay thawed puff pastry on a clean surface. Brush lightly with beaten egg.

    Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the entire surface, pressing gently.

    Cut pastry into 1/2-inch-wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

    Twist each strip 3–4 times and lay on prepared baking sheet.

    Sprinkle lightly with sea salt. Bake 8–10 minutes until deep golden.

    Cool 1 minute on baking sheet, then transfer to a plate. Serve warm.
