Ingredients

  • 6 sheets phyllo sheets
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 count egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 400°F. Brush a muffin tin with melted butter.

  2. 2

Stack phyllo sheets, brush each lightly with melted butter, cut into 4 squares, and press into muffin cups.

  3. 3

Bake phyllo cups until golden and crisp, about 6 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly.

  4. 4

Heat milk in a saucepan over medium until steaming (don't boil). Whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale.

  5. 5

Slowly pour hot milk into egg mixture, whisking constantly. Pour custard back into pan and stir over low heat for 2 minutes until thickened.
