Ingredients

  • 8 pieces papdi (fried lentil wafers)
  • 1 medium potato, boiled
  • ½ can (15 oz) canned chickpeas, drained
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste (or concentrate)
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1

Dice the boiled potato into 1/2-inch cubes. Warm the yogurt in a small bowl.

  2. 2

Whisk tamarind paste, chaat masala, 1 tsp salt, and 2 tbsp water together until smooth.

  3. 3

Arrange papdi on a serving plate. Top each piece with a spoonful of yogurt.

  4. 4

Layer potatoes and chickpeas over the yogurt. Drizzle tamarind mixture over the top.

  5. 5

Scatter red onion and cilantro over everything. Serve immediately so papdi stays crispy.
