Ingredients
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- ½ cup fresh mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch pinch of salt
Instructions
- 1
In a mason jar or airtight container, combine rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly combined with no dry pockets of oats remaining.
- 2
Gently fold in about half of the fresh berries, reserving the remaining berries for topping. This keeps some berries fresh while distributing flavor throughout the oats.
- 3
Cover the jar or container tightly with a lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight (8-12 hours). The oats will absorb the liquid and become creamy and tender.
- 4
In the morning, remove from the refrigerator and give the oats a good stir, adding a splash more milk if the mixture is too thick. The texture should be spoonable but creamy, not runny.
- 5
Transfer to a serving bowl and top with the reserved fresh berries. Enjoy straight from the jar or container, or warm gently in the microwave for 1-2 minutes if you prefer warm oats.
