Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large onion
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 1 lb chicken breast
- 1.5 cups tomato sauce
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp garam masala
Instructions
- 1
In a bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 tsp salt, and about 1/2 cup water to form a soft dough. Knead for 2 minutes, cover, and let rest while you make the chicken.
- 2
Melt 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 diced onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add 1 lb cubed chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
- 3
Stir in 1.5 cups tomato sauce, 1 tsp garam masala, and 1/2 tsp salt. Simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in 1/2 cup cream and cook 2 more minutes.
- 4
Divide the dough into 4 balls. Roll each into a 6-inch circle, press the remaining 1/2 diced onion into the top.
- 5
Heat a dry skillet over medium-high. Cook each kulcha for 2-3 minutes per side until golden spots appear. Brush with remaining 1 tbsp butter.
- 6
Serve the hot kulcha with the butter chicken, garnished with cilantro if desired.
