Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne or other short pasta
  • 14.5 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 1 minute.

    Add minced garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

    Pour in crushed tomatoes and water, then add pasta and stir well.

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender, 12–14 minutes.
