Ingredients
- 8 links Nürnberger bratwurst (or similar German pork sausage)
- 2 cups sauerkraut
- 3 tbsp whole grain mustard
- 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
- ½ tsp caraway seeds
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 pinch salt and black pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 1 minute.

Add bratwurst and sear without moving for 3 minutes until edges turn golden brown.

Flip each bratwurst and sear the other side for 3 minutes until cooked through.

Remove bratwurst to a plate. Reduce heat to medium and add sliced onion to the skillet.

Sauté onion for 2 minutes until starting to soften and edges brown lightly.

Add sauerkraut, caraway seeds, and beef broth to the skillet; stir to combine.

Simmer for 4 minutes until sauerkraut is heated through and liquid reduces slightly.
