Ingredients
- 1 package pie crusts (store-bought, 2 per package)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 cup beef gravy
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish, trimming any overhang.
- 2
In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the 1 lb ground beef and 1 diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- 3
Stir in the 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables and 1 cup beef gravy. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4
Pour the filling into the pie crust. Roll out the second crust and cut into 1-inch strips. Arrange strips in a lattice pattern over the filling, pressing edges to seal.
- 5
Beat the 1 egg with 1 tablespoon water and brush over the lattice. Bake until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly, 25-30 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
- 6
Slice and serve warm.
