Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. In a bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups flour and 2 tsp baking powder.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, cream 0.5 cup softened butter and 0.75 cup sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in 2 eggs one at a time.

  3. 3

Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture until just combined. Transfer half the batter to another bowl and stir in 1 tbsp matcha powder until evenly green.

  4. 4

Spoon the plain and matcha batters alternately into the prepared pan. Swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.

  5. 5

Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
