Ingredients

  • ¾ lb ground lamb
  • ½ medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large warm pita bread
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced

Instructions

    Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 60 seconds.

    Add diced onion and cook, stirring, until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes.

    Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

    Add ground lamb, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until no pink remains, about 5 minutes.

    Season with 0.5 tsp salt, 0.25 tsp black pepper, 0.5 tsp cumin, 0.25 tsp paprika, and a pinch of cayenne.

    Stir yogurt, lemon juice, and 1 minced garlic clove in a small bowl until smooth.

    Spread yogurt sauce inside each warm pita, then fill with cooked lamb, tomato slices, and cucumber slices.
