Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground lamb
  • 2 pieces pita bread
  • ¾ cup plain yogurt
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 1 whole lemon (juiced)
  • 2 whole garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pinch sumac or paprika, salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1

Cut pita into triangles. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high.

  2. 2

Fry pita triangles until golden and crispy, ~2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, and 2 tbsp water until smooth.

  4. 4

Add lamb and minced garlic to the same skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. 5

Break up lamb with a spoon, cooking until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

  6. 6

Season lamb with salt, pepper, and sumac. Remove from heat.

  7. 7

Spread half the yogurt sauce on a plate. Layer pita on top, then lamb.

  8. 8

Drizzle remaining sauce over lamb. Top with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
