Ingredients
- 1 cup ice
- 2 ounces espresso (or strong brewed coffee, cooled)
- 3 ounces whole milk
- 1 tablespoon caramel syrup
- 2 tablespoons whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Fill a tall glass with 1 cup of ice, packing it firmly so it comes about two-thirds of the way up the sides of the glass.
- 2
Pour 2 ounces of cooled espresso or strong brewed coffee directly over the ice, filling the glass about one-third of the way.
- 3
Pour 3 ounces of whole milk over the espresso and ice, watching the milk create a layered effect as it mixes with the coffee.
- 4
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of caramel syrup slowly down the side of the glass; it will sink through the milk and coffee, creating sweet ribbons.
- 5
Stir well with a long spoon until the caramel is distributed evenly and the drink is light brown throughout.
- 6
Top with 2 tablespoons of whipped cream if desired, then insert a straw and serve immediately.
Tools you’ll need
- tall glass (12–16 ounces)
