Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Stir together soy sauce, pineapple juice, ginger, garlic, and brown sugar in a bowl.

  2. 2

Pat beef dry with paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high until it shimmers, about 90 seconds.

  4. 4

Working in batches, sear beef 60-90 seconds per side without stirring until edges brown. Transfer to a plate.

  5. 5

Pour teriyaki mixture into the skillet. Bring to a simmer and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.

  6. 6

Return beef to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.

  7. 7

    Serve immediately over steamed rice.
