Ingredients
- 4 slice bread slices
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 oz cheddar cheese
- 4 slice bacon
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Cook the 4 bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, then crumble when cool enough to handle.
- 2
In a small saucepan, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Whisk in 1 tbsp flour and cook for 1 minute until bubbly.
- 3
Gradually whisk in 0.5 cup heavy cream, 0.25 tsp salt, and 0.25 tsp black pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
- 4
Spread the remaining 1 tbsp butter on one side of each bread slice. Place 2 slices buttered-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
- 5
Top each with 2 oz cheddar cheese and the other bread slice, buttered-side up. Cook until golden brown and cheese melts, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 6
Slice each sandwich in half, drizzle with the creamy sauce, and sprinkle with the bacon crumble. Serve warm.
