Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pieces pita bread (6-inch)
  • ½ cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1 each tomato, sliced, and red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat beef dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and oregano.

  2. 2

Warm pita bread in a skillet over medium heat until soft and pliable, ~30 seconds per side.

  3. 3

Heat olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high until shimmering, ~90 seconds.

  4. 4

Add garlic, cook 30 seconds until fragrant, then add beef in a single layer without stirring.

  5. 5

Cook beef 2 minutes until edges brown. Stir and cook 2 more minutes until no pink remains.

  6. 6

Remove from heat. Squeeze lemon juice over beef and stir to combine.

  7. 7

Spread 2 tbsp tzatziki on each warm pita. Layer with beef, tomato slices, and red onion.

  8. 8

Fold pita in half and serve immediately.
