Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, fresh

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the hulled strawberries in a blender or food processor bowl.

  2. 2

Pour in 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice on top of the berries.

  3. 3

Blend on medium speed for 30 seconds, stirring once halfway through, until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible berry chunks, like a thick smoothie.

  4. 4

Pour the sauce through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing the pulp gently with the back of a spoon to extract all the liquid, leaving seeds behind if desired.

  5. 5

Taste the sauce and stir in extra sugar, 1 teaspoon at a time, if you prefer it sweeter.
