Ingredients

  • 4 slice Bread slices (white or whole wheat)
  • 2 tablespoon Butter, softened
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • ½ cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin with butter.

    Flatten bread slices with a rolling pin. Brush both sides lightly with softened butter.

    Press each bread slice into a muffin cup, forming a basket shape with edges slightly above the rim.

    Crack one egg into each bread basket. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cheese.

    Bake for 12–15 minutes until bread is golden and eggs are cooked to desired doneness (runny yolk or fully set).

    Remove from oven and let cool for 1 minute. Garnish with fresh chives and serve warm.
