Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp mirin

Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, mix 1 cup glutinous rice flour with 0.5 cup water until a soft dough forms. Knead until smooth, about 2 minutes.

  2. 2

Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each into a ball. Bring a pot of water to a boil, then add the balls and cook until they float, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Drain the dumplings and thread 3 onto each skewer. In a small pan, combine 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tbsp mirin; simmer over medium heat until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.

  4. 4

Brush the glaze over the dumplings on all sides. Serve warm or at room temperature.
