Croque Monsieur

Ingredients
- 4 slices White bread slices
- 150 g French ham, sliced
- 100 g Emmental cheese, sliced
- 4 tablespoons Béchamel sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons Butter, softened
- ¼ teaspoon Sea salt
- ⅛ teaspoon Black pepper

Lay out 4 bread slices on a clean surface. Lightly spread Dijon mustard on two of the slices.

Layer ham and Emmental cheese on the mustard-spread slices, dividing equally. Top each with the remaining bread slices to form two sandwiches.

Spread softened butter on the outer sides of each sandwich. Season with sea salt and black pepper.

Heat a 10-inch cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat for 2 minutes until hot.

Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Carefully flip and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese is melted inside.
